This retreat is an invitation to reclaim the erotic in all areas of our lives as a way to access embodied, connected living- that is what we call pleasure...
It is an exploration into what fuels intimacy and connection as a lifestyle, reclaiming our birthright to living cracked open, in our power, in our truth, and fully inhabiting our bodies.
Why? So we can feel deeply connected to all of life, isn't that the whole reason for being human?
The Erotic ( or Eros) is our Aliveness, it is the felt experience in our body that makes us feel deeply connected to ourself & life.
Part of the frustration we expereince stems from a lack of education around the possibilities we can access in intimate encounters, whether with a long-term partner or in our personal exploration with others.
A missing piece in our intimate lives is recognising that we don't have to place all of our focus and attention on genital sex as a means for embodied connection.
The erotic, or eros, is our aliveness—
It is the felt experience in your body that makes you deeply connected to yourself and the present moment.
Our access to the erotic is in everything, making the experience of the erotic available to us all the time because life is everywhere.
The Truth is, the Erotic is not only about sex.
We live in a time where we are so fixated on sex, many of us are frustrated by sex, feel we are not getting enough, or are unsatisfied by it.
When we hold sex as the main goal of intimate pleasure or connection, we miss all the possible portals available to us to feel deeply connected.
We enter in a quest for sex with others to either feel conencted or experience a sense of validation, chase for better sex, or avoid it all together because it doesn't feel fulfilling due to trauma or a lack of expressing what we need and want.
This leave us in a perpetual cycle of chasing or avoiding, with out realizing the connection & intimacy we are looking for is found- everywhere.
The Erotic Love retreat is an initiation into broadening our notions of the erotic so we can experience the full possibility of intimacy & connection available to us, in all areas of our lives, not just the sexual act.
Shadow work
In order for us to access our erotic truth we first need to identify our shadows- the shadow is the hidden, repressed & denied aspect of self. The parts of ourselves we hide in order to gain validation & approval from others. In this retreat we will explore the strategies we use to gain love and approval & areas of our sexual shadow.
Over 5 days we will reclaim our what it means to live erotically, in all areas of our lives by exploreing
Nervous System attunement
In order for us to feel safe to access vulnerability, we prioritize working with the nervous system, with an understanding that we all hold trauma in our bodies we aim to weave in somatic practices through out the retreat so we can feel safe to explore unknown territories within ourselves while not overwhelming our hearts, bodies & mind.
The 12 faces of the erotic
The 12 faces of the erotic are specific portals that bridge our human experience to tangibly experience an abstract divine concept. Every aspect of Eros embodies a unique essence of vibrant vitality. As we learn to embody each of the faces, we begin to feel the possibility of erotic living.
Nature & Eros
Nature plays an intrinsic role in our relationship to the erotic. Through connection to the elements that surround us- water, earth & fire, we will immerse ourselves in the senuous experience of what nature has to offer us as a pathway to embodying the erotic.
Transpersonal Eroticism
Transpersonal means going beyond the personal, In our time together, Transpersonal eroticism extends beyond the individual, inviting us to let go of our self-image, preferences & the transactional behaviors. to reach the transperonsal we will explire Slowing down, sensing & attuning to the transperosnal is amplified when we explore our capacity to be in silence, presence & darkness. Through various individual, couple & group practices you will be invited to explore the mystery & the transpersonal through these powerful agents of erotic awakening.
The Erotic Shades
Exploring the different erotic shades in individual, couple & group practices will invite an embodied sense of the difference between sensuality, the erotic, intimacy & sexual energy.
Community & Eros
Through out the retreat we will enter into an embodied research around the question- how can I let go of the conditioned fixation that my need for intimacy & connection can only be met by one person. We will explore the possibilities of intimacy available to us when we expand erotic connection through out the group to expereince " the group body as the lover"
Circle Work
Cirlce work is a powerful tool that allows people in the group field to be seen and felt in their experience. It is a way to integrate expereinces had in the retreat, be felt in an emotional charge, express something that feels edgy, speak what is alive and process any undigested material that may still be active from a practice or process in the retreat.
Erotic Temples
Temples are a place of ritual & ceremony where we enter into an experience with intention and consciousness. Every evening of the retreat, we will hold different erotic temple that allow us to explore different facets of the erotic. This will include sensuality & and non penetrative sexual explorations. The temples act as an integration from the teachings of the day.
You do not have to participate in anything you do not desire to and we exercise full consent & boundry practices through out all temple & the retreat as a whole.
Embodying Eroticism is the experience of our raw, ungaurded vulnerability
Over five days, we will create a safe space within our bodies, hearts, nervous systems, and minds. Allowing us to relinquish control, abandon programmed narratives, and truly connect to our erotic wholeness.
The retreat will focus on expanding our understanding of the erotic beyond its purely sexual connotations and the idea that it is only shared with one person.
Through a variety of lectures, embodiment practices, sensual explorations, and non-penetrative sexual experiences, we will explore a full spectrum of erotic connection with ourselves, others, community, and nature.
It is within this temple that we will rediscover what it feels like to experience erotic wholenes.
Natalie & Maanee are best friends, advocates & educators in the realm of the erotic & sensuality and the co-creators Erotic Love. With over a decade of shared personal & professional experience, they will be your guides & transmissions over the 5 day retreat,
Maanee Chrystal Lynn Joy
Maanee is a Somatic Psychotherapist, Dance Therapist, and Somatic Integrative Educator & Erotic Educator. With her innate capacity for deep feeling and sensing, Maanee weaves together a tapestry of modalities including shadow work, somatics, trauma resolution, nervous system health, dance therapy, non-duality, eco-somatics, embodied leadership, sensuality & the erotic.
As the visionary founder of The Somatic Institute for Women, Maanee has created a sanctuary for women seeking to reclaim their power and embodiment. Her year-long teacher trainings on somatics for women have empowered and educated nearly 300 students, equipping them with the tools to become somatic educators themselves & her school holds over 50,000 students worldwide.
Beyond her work at the Institute, Maanee serves as a somatic psychotherapist working in private practice for the last 10 years. She also leads immersive trainings on shadow work, delving into the depths of the human psyche to bring about profound transformation.
